Lucas' Birthday. 3 really, already?

Jason's parents were at our house this weekend for Dallin's blessing so we decided to celebrate Lucas' birthday a little early so they could be here. This is his special cake from my uncle. Lucas loves Spiderman. Can ya tell?

This is the action shot. There was only a little bit of spit on the cake.
I totally love watching my kids get truly excited. Being a mom is great. I can't wait until Christmas.

So I have a funny story about Luke. About a week ago we were sitting in our basement hanging out, when Luke started to pull his pants down. So I asked if he needed to go to the bathroom. He said emphatically, "NO". I was telling him to pull up his pants and trying to explain that we don't just go around pulling our pants down. By this point he was bent over grabbing his bum. He looked like Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura. Jason and I were trying not to laugh. I asked him what he was doing. He said "I am looking for my dice" Why was he looking in his pants you may ask? Well he loves pockets. And he loves filling his pockets. But he was wearing sweats, and his sweats don't have pockets so he put it inside his pants. When he went to get it, it was gone, but where could it be? So he started looking. Jason was able to show him that it had fallen down by his feet where the elastic trapped it. We had a good laugh.

Dallin's Blessing

Dallin's Blessing was today. He is such a good baby. There was no crying and a couple of people even said they saw him smile when Jason held him up to "show" him off to the ward members.

Austin is a very proud big brother.

The blanket that Dallin is on is his great grandma's. She used it in the blessing of all of her children, they have used it with most of her grandchildren's blessings, and so far it has been used by all of her great grandchildren.

Final Soccer Game

After a shaky start, Coach Crawford and the Earthquakes got on a roll. They finished the season 7-2 (though no one was keeping score, right? I was! We outscored opponents 51-8).

Here is Coach Crawford giving his team their last pregame pep-talk. This is what he told them:

"This is our last game of the season. Can't hold anything back."
I will say that for a group of 3 and 4 year-olds they did very well. Some of the other teams were all over the place. We watched other teams lay on the ground, play tag, and even run off the field.

After the game we had a team pizza party. What a cute team! (Cute? What's up w/ that? No one wants to be known as the "cute" team. We were 7-2, how bout fierce or indomitable? Honestly, cute? C'mon!)

Coach Crawford giving his end of the season talk.

Here He is passing out the trophies.
It was a lot of fun to watch Austin play soccer. I love being a "soccer"mom. It was also a lot of fun watching Jason coach. He definitely grew more comfortable in that role as the season went on. He was a trooper, this was a job that I volunteered him for. If he hadn't done it none of these kids would have had the opportunity to play. Not only did he do it, but he did a great job. He did so awesome that the other parents nominated him to be the T-ball coach. Or maybe none of them wanted to coach T-ball. I am going to go with the good job theory.

Good Example

Thank you Jason for being a good example to our boys!!
I am very grateful to be married to someone that can show my boys what it means to be a good man and husband.

They are so cute!!

Good job dad!

Fort Friday

On Friday it was raining. Image that! Rain in Washington! So the boys and I decided to make a Fort and we called it our Friday Fort. It was great, it kept the boys entertained all day!

The Fort went from one end of our house to the other. There were different rooms. They even ate their lunch in there. They had a ball.
Lucas in his "Science" room. He is my boy that likes to figure things out. He wants to know how everything works. He has a great imagination.

Austin is my little ring leader. He can get Lucas to do anything.

I LOVE it when the play together, it is so much fun to hear them make each other laugh!

Happy 5th Birthday Austin

I cannot believe that Austin is 5. We have had SO much fun having him in our family. Austin is such a good big brother, and a wonderful helper.

For Austin's Birthday he wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese. He actually wanted to go there last year but it was way too crazy to go in (lesson learned - avoid weekends there). He was a good sport last year and we did Glow Golf instead. The day before his birthday this year he asked if he was going to get to go to Chuck E. Cheese. I told him I was not sure. He went off on how he didn't get to go when he was 4 and now I wasn't going to let him go when he was 5 either. He reminded me that he had been asking for a year to go to Chuck E. Cheese, which he had, but with the craziness of having a baby 2 weeks ago I was not as prepared as I should have been - totally forgot about Chuck E.) I talked to Jason and we decided we should at least make the effort to go. It worked out and the whole family had a great time.

Austin had fun beating Jason at air hockey.

My uncle made this awesome Batman cake.
Thanks Dale and Michael!

I hope his wish comes true. He will not tell me what it was (because then it won't come true), but he assures me it was a good one.
Austin could hardly wait to get to his gifts. He had a great birthday.
We love you Austin!!!
Happy Birthday.
